In this episode of the Gartner Futures Lab Podcast, host Marty Resnick sits down with Gartner Distinguished Vice President Frank Buytendijk and Managing Vice President Malcolm Murray to talk about disruptions. They also discuss the recently published Gartner Future Directions 2023: The Age of Disruptions that features 19 disruptions that might materialize sometime between now and 2033 and how leaders should respond.

Malcolm Murray is chief of research for Gartner’s Risk Management Leadership Council and Audit Leadership Council. He is also a Gartner Fellow and the agenda manager for strategic risk management. He studies best practices for heads of enterprise risk management and chief audit executives, enabling more than 1,000 executives and more than 40,000 professionals around the world to improve their performance and impact.

Frank Buytendijk is a Distinguished VP and Gartner Fellow in Gartner’s Innovation and Disruption team. Frank is co-lead of Gartner Futures Lab. His work mostly takes a futurist approach, researching the edges of what he covers. Frank pioneers the topics of "the future," digital ethics and digital society helping organizations to do the right thing with technology and avoid messing up.
